Well this isnt a usual kind of post to put in the Cantina but there isn't a place until Locales that really fits, and I wasnt sure where else to put it.
A slight rumbling sound could be heard outside the base structures of the Legionnaires base of operations on Sheretan, code named Site 187. In the early morning hours the slight rumbling grew louder and louder until, breaking through the clouds in an almost magestic way, a Leopard-class aerodyne dropship came into view. The still rising sun glinting at a sharp angle off the wings and nose of the craft, between breif moments of being slightly blinded by the reflected light, a large black dragon could clearly be seem emblazoned against a red circular background, the tell tale House symbol of the Draconis Combine, House Kurita. Several more markings of the same kind became more clearly visible as the ship approached, its engines firing hot steamy gases out from its engines, the heat waves flickering through the air distorting one's perception as they looked through it.
A sudden burst of activity can be seen inside the control tower used primarily for communication between the Liberty and the base, various technicians and crew were scurrying about, probably getting into contact with this dropship and figureing out what was going on. As the almost chaotic looking throng of people in the control seemed to calm and then subside, its assumed that contact was made and that all was well again.
Although there wasn't an actual landing pad available for the dropship, the only one at the base was currently occupied by the Liberty, the aerodyne's pilot expertly landed it very smoothly in one of a few clearing large enough for such a feat. As the cargo bay doors open and the personnel and equipment ramps extend a small throng of assorted crew members, technicians, and base personnel began to gather near the edge of the clearing, seemingly anxious to see why the dropship came.
As the bays finish opening a myriad of technicians and crew scurry out of the way of the path of several vehicles that quickly head down the loading ramps. Leading the way down the ramp is a set of two supply trucks, fully loaded with weapons and equipment, although covered so most of the equipment is not visible, if you look closely you can catch the edge of what appears to be a Clan double heat sink, as well as the tip of something that would resemble a 'mech sized sword. Following closely behind the supply trucks a small hover transport, loaded with luggage and small personal belongings, makes its way to the bottom of the ramp and stops, as though waiting for someone or something, while the supply trucks head straight to the 'mech bay.
Shortly afterwards 3 figures appear in the personnel loading doorway and begin to slowly make their way down the ramp. The middle figure is about 6' and wears a Legionnaires Officer uniform; a black t-shirt, partially visible under a slightly undone, gunmetal grey, military suit jacket with the Legionnaires crest on the shoulders and across the left breast, a rank insignia of Captain is barely discernable across the tops of both shoulders and the traditional red and gold colours of the Legionnaires trim the lapel and cuffs of the uniform, a pair of gunmetal grey casual dress pants finish the uniform off. While the two people flanking him on either side are about the same height but wearing Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery uniforms.
".... again the DCMS and its R&D division would like to thank you for ..."
"No need to thank me again, you've done it enough already," said the center figure, interupting the one on his left that had been speaking.
"Ah just the man I'm looking for," he said as Captain Benjamin Maxwell approached the bottom of the ramp.Just to avoid any confusion this is entire event has happened immediately after OP VI, and before the MRBC investigation that currently occupies Ben
"Captain Maxwell, its good to see you again."
"Its good to see you as well again Captain Gunman."
"Ben, this is 2nd Lieutenant Andrew Simmons," I said motioning to the man on my left, "and this man on my right is the New Samarkand Prefecture Aide, Sho-sho Hsari Pangetta. These two men insisted on accompanying me back from New Samarkand where I was field testing a new Battlemech for them."
At that moment two Kanazuchi Assault Battle Armour units showed up at the top of the loading ramp, followed by a Battlemech transport and then another pair of Kanazuchis. As they made their way down the ramp I said, "Speaking of which, here comes the new Battlemech now," pausing for a moment I looked at the 80 ton Assault 'mech with a slight puzzled expression, turning to my left I said, "Lieutenant, wasn't the Hatamoto lying down when it was loaded?"
"Yes sir, it was. The techs must have repositioned it to show it off or something before we entered atmosphere."
The 'mech now knelt down on the transport bed, as if a knight of ancient Terra, it was down on its left knee, leaving the right one bent in such a way to provide a rest for the arm, which was laid across it. A large barrel with external heat sinks and venting ports adorning its armoured exterior is mounted on the right forearm, obviously a powerful energy weapon. The left arm extends straight down from the 'mechs hunched forward torso and shoulders, the hand open palmed and planted on the ground as if a brace. The head of the 'mech leaning forward with the boarding ladder extended down between the right arm mounted gun barrel and the torso of the 'mech. The Hatamoto is painted in the Legionnaires Formal colour scheme of a deep red over the entire body accented with Gold trim and highlights. A thing the DCMS has their technicians do without my knowledge, and I wasn't too happy about it. It would have to be repainted before combat because the red and gold, although aesthetically pleasing, was too eye catching for combat and would draw unwanted attention.
"The hatamoto-Kaze Mk II," I said, arresting Maxwell's gaze back towards me on the ramp as the transport entered our 'mech bay, "the perfect assasin 'mech some say, I just call it my new toy."
"So that's the 'mech you were field testing?" with a slight smile he continued, "Why do you always get the fun jobs?"
As the Kanazuchis and the now empty battlemech transport returne, I hand Captain Maxwell a datapad with a brief TRO on the 'mech.
"There's a fully detailed TRO as well as a holovid and simulator recreation of a field test with my personal belongings," I told Maxwell as he looked at the TRO.

As the supply trucks and shuttle that departed earlier returned, Maxwell and I bid farewell to the two DCMS officers and they returned to their dropship. Shortly thereafter the Aerodyne dropship took to the sky and dissappeared through the clouds, the rumbling of its engines fading into the distance.
Turning to Maxwell as we made our way back to the main compound I said with a chuckle, "I imagine I've got a lot of catching up to do, huh?"
"You have no idea," he said as he began to fill me in on what had happened in my absence.
Just to fill in any gaps, for the past 3 OPs Captain Gunman has been on New Samarkand in Kurita space, field testing a new model of the old Hatamoto Assault class battlemech still in use by the Draconis Combine.
