I'd say open, but continue building.
Although, for the most part we should hang around here until the new forums are really up and running.

Those of you wishing to see the new site, and get registered, can feel free to check it out at: www.beagleactiveprobe.com/forumsThe Cantina is up and running, as are several areas of the site. The InfoBot is porting posts as quickly as I can allocate time to it, and I project completion of the forums by mid next week, if not sooner. Some of you may notice your avatars looking strange when you register; this is due to the fact that I have not yet coded the avatar size limitations. This will be implemented soon. Have a look, everyone, and please report any glitches you may find in this thread. I think you all will be very impressed with the new forums!

That is a known issue, and it has something to do with the amount of traffic on Geocities' MySQL server. If you get that, just reload the page. I am working to sort that out (I have been working on this project entirely on my own).

oh yeah, please take your time. I didn't mean to make it sound as if I were rushing it. Just was letting you know what I got. Thanks for all your efforts Ben, I know this must be a hugh undertaking for you. Wish there was something I could do to help. If you think of anything let me know.

Thanks! It has been a MASSIVE project, and there's still quite a bit left. Were you able to get to the site? If so, what do you think so far?

Ben could you validate me? It's been awhile now and I've still not got the message... can that be bypassed?

No problem. Most likely the PHP has malfunctioned. I'll correct that.

I couldn't get my characters nickname to add in when I registered. (aka "Butch") I think the ( " ) was an illegal character.
I saw that there didn't seem to be a way to edit your display name either post registration. Do you think you could edit that for me if it's an admin function? It seems that a ( ' ) would have been okay since Gunman's character has his nick done up that way. If not, that's fine.

Your not the only one who's excited Sue, lol, I think we all are, I know I am anyways.
These forums are great, btw Ben , when you said that you hadn't encoded the avatar size limits, does that mean that the 90 x 90 is default? If not and you have encoded that since your post, is there any chance we could make it a touch bigger?
I dont remember exactly what the sizing limits are on proboards here. But my current avatar on here is 150x217. I think that size looks fine on here, and should look alright on the new site as well, but if you think its too large thats fine and I'll resize my image to fit the new site. Just was wondering is all.
