You find yourself standing in the main atrium of the Entry Processing wing of the Sheratan command center. It is tranquil here, and the jet-black marble veneer of the walls and floor glistens elegantly as rays of light reflect off of the ivory columns flanking the entrance hall.
Mounted on a podium in the center of the reception hall, an electronic display provides directions to the various wings of the facility. Approaching the board, you scroll through the list of offices until you find directions to the recruiting offices.
This is the place to sign up! Once you're familiar with how to post here, please post a message, in roleplaying format, letting us know that you wish to sign on with the Legionnaires.

Welcome aboard, Lieutenant Murphy! We're glad to have you here. Recruit testing is waived for the moment, so head on over to the hanger and request your BattleMech of choice, then report in at the active campaign!
Do you have a character profile to post in the dossiers section?

" Holms Net, reporting in, SIR"
As Holms salutes, he brakes some kind of antique he was standing next to.
Would it be "As Holms salutes", or"As I salute"? Oh, and should I make a Character Profile?

I pause for a moment as the antique Kurita vase crashes to the floor, shattering into a thousand irreparable pieces. Sighing to myself, I return the salute as a cleaning bot scurries in to whisk away the mess.
"At ease, recruit. Welcome aboard. Don't worry about the mess - I'm sure that we'll be up to our gun-ports in Kurita souveniers before this Op is over.
"Impressive resume. You'll do well here. Your BattleMech testing has been waived, and all your paperwork is in order. Head over to the Main Hanger to request a BattleMech - be sure to specify the loadout - and we'll get you taken care of. Then check in at the active campaign! It's a pleasure to have you here, Lieutenant."
I snapped a salue to the newest member of the Legionnaires, and smiled to myself as he left my office.
You have two options - you can write in present tense first person (i.e. - As I salue, I knock over so-and-so), or, you can use past tense first person (i.e. - As I saluted, I knocked over...). Whichever you feel more comfortable engaging in! A profile would be fantastic - also, post your request for a BattleMech with specifications (weapons systems, etc) in the Main Hanger - and we'll be sure to get you taken care of before the start of the mission. Welcome aboard!)

Ignoring the monitor that prompted me on the officer's list and quickly made my was towards Captain Maxwell's office. I spotted Captain Maxwell straight away and began walking over to him. All of a sudden I felt this sudden sensation that was flickering in the back of my mind. It came at me in an instant. I felt an endless stream of thoughts and memories penetrate my brain. The information was coming my way at a quicker pace then I could have ever anticipated. There was so much anger and sadness. I fell to my knees, screaming and crying. Captain Maxwell eventually noticed me.
Are you alright over there?
Suddenly hearing his voice, I attempted to block out this unbearable sensation growing in my mind. It eventually released me, pushing me back into the replacement vase that the Captain had placed three days prior. It slipped of its holding stand and tumbled to the ground, shattering into pieces.
"P-Pr-Private Shea A-Anzovino reporting on request to you sir..."
I just felt like breaking the vase again. I would just like you to know that you have done a fine job on this site. I found out about it at the XBOX forums

Walking along through the hall, my footsteps echoeing off of the marble veneer, making my way towards Captain Maxwell's office. Suddenly I hear a loud piercing scream shortly followed by a crash and the sound of something hollow shattering into pieces. I quickly break into a run and sprint the rest of the way to Captain Maxwell's office, rounding the corner I see a young man standing shakily before Captain Maxwell, the replacement Kurita vase laying on the floor in pieces.
Stepping up to the two people, I look back and forth and say, "Is everything alright? I thought I heard someone screaming."

I winced as the fifth dynasty Kuritan vase, purchased at irreplacable cost, shattered into a thousand pieces on the freshly-swept floor of my office, coating the sobbing recruit with a thin layer of ferro-dust as it spilled its contents onto the floor. Before I had the chance to retrieve even the smallest shard, the cleaning droid trundled in and whisked away the remnants, its loud vaccuum intake nearly drowned out by the nearly incoherent string of apologies coming from my new arrival.
Kneeling down on one boot to bring myself to eye level with the figure huddled on the floor before me, I gently placed my hand on his shoulder and made eye contact with a pair of red, teary eyes.
"Welcome aboard, MechWarrior."
How funny! I think you may have started a new tradition in the Enlistment forums. Thanks for the compliment - I hope you have as much fun posting here as we did creating it! You'll fit in well. Welcome aboard...head over to the hanger and check in with the quartermaster - your testing is waived.

After the new recruit is welcomed and then suggested to check in over at the hanger to acquire a battlemech, I turn to Captain Maxwell and shake my head a little.
"If that's about to become the new tradition, you may want to consider using something cheaper", chuckling a little I lean backwards and look around the corner to see the little cleaning bot running away at full speed like it just stole something.

After the introductions, I heard Captain Gunman run into the room. He was out of breath and he looked like he was a bit, out of shape. He spoke, in deep, long intervals...
"Is everything alright? I thought I heard someone screaming."
The voice of Captain Maxwell immediately took over...
"Everything is alright here. You may go about your business. And as for you..."
He looked down at me and then he looked at the vase. He spoke in a very serious tone...
"Welcome aboard, Mechwarrior."

"Where should I report to, Captain?"
There was no point in saying this, I already knew the answer. I heard the gentle rumble of the cleaning-bot hover away after sweeping up the remains of what once was a great antique vase.

I helped the visibly shaken recruit to his feet and dusted him off.
"Follow Captain Gunman down this hall and out to the main staging ground. Once there, head across the airstrip to the hanger facility. You can't miss it - it's where the dropship is berthed. The quartermaster's office is on your right. Check in with him, and request your BattleMech. Once that's done, find either Gunman or myself, (in the Active Campaign thread), and we'll get you a berth on the DropShip."
The exhausted recruit managed a wan smile and a salute, and then turned to follow Captain Gunman. I sighed quietly, and returned to my desk for some last-minute paperwork before dustoff. I made a note to myself that I wanted this MechWarrior in Castle lance, then turned to read the active duty roster, signing off on some last minute requisitions as I did so.

I saluted Captain Maxwell and walked away with Captain Gunman, so that I may become better acquainted with my surroundings.
Where is the Mech choosing thread?
