Just thought I would give everyone a quick status report on the new forums:
I am still waiting for several individuals' contributions to clear the banks. Once this has happened, the new forums will be purchased.

this slowing of the payment has been a problem my end. Things would be 10 times as simple for me if i could have pay pal in english, however it is ALL in german. with babel fish and my low level of german, i had managed to translate most of it but i had missed a couple of parts regarding the finilisation of the pay pal account. once i get this sorted (which i will be doing ASAP) then the money should get to ben and then we can have our website  sorry for the hold up cheers, keith |

Does PayPal change its language according to your location, rather than letting you select a language? If so, thats kind of dumb in my opinion, basically because of situations like the one Keith is in.
Anyways, don't worry about it Keith I dont imagine anyone minds too much, I know we are all anxious to get the new site up and running, but I dont think anyone is going to complain about you donating, even if it takes a little longer for things to get all finalized.

Adam, i think ben said it best when he said, and i quote:

This is the best and most accurate descriptive sentance for german paypal. Its also somewhat arrousing...
there is an english option... for replies in emails. the site doesnt have a "translate" button. German paypal is for german's who speak german. Im an alien in Moenchengladbach trying to learn the language... lol
right now i am working furiously to get the issue solved and i will get things sorted ASAP.

Alex, that is very kind of you indeed and i shall keep ur offer in mind. right now i am using a combination of my german skills (low), bable fish (literal translations are often confusing ¬_¬) and my dad's understanding of german (medium to high). im getting there, and in fact, i went to the bank today. things should get sorted 3-5 days  cheers, keith |

LATEST SITE UPDATE: The last transaction still has not cleared. As such, I plan to allocate some more of my own funds to the kitty, and move forward with the purchase. Most likely the prototype will be online by this Friday. Check this space for more updates.

Everyone.... i have an embarassing announcement to make.
i decided to pestur my dad to give me a hand with pay pal, and the first thing he did was switch the language from german to english.... there WAS a link to click to change everything into english language afterall.... i had completely overlooked it.
now that things are in english i have identified the mistake and Ben, everything will be sorted tomorow (i have to make a trip to the bank to transfer the money into your account)
sorry for the delay, i feel a total twat for not noticing this easy solution to my problem, but at least things WILL be sorted asap.

No problem Keith, we've all been in situations like that before where we overlook something that seems so obvious later on.
Anyways glad to hear its all getting sorted out, and thanks for being willing to donate, along with everyone else who has donated too.
Can't wait to see the new site up and running, even if its just a prototype.
