I stepped into my personal simulator, and began a random mission with a random 'mech. Set in a 'mech immediatly, my speakers blared out a voice stating the rules
"There are 5 teams of 3. Nav Alpha, Bata, Gamma, Epsilon, and Delta are for the taking. You must stand alone with your team in a 100' radius of these navs to gain time. If another enemy is in fact in this territory, you must kill him or her. Respawn time gets lower as your team gets more time. To win, you must have 5:00 of time from one 'hill', or 1:00 in each hill. You loose time if you or a partner step out of the 100' radius. No time is gained if there are multiple team's 'mechs in a hill. Times, scores, and your team's status are shown on your display. Good luck.
I was in Bravo lance. I had an Uziel and a Raven behind me. I sat in my mighty Atlas, which I was testing out before My actions. I teased the throttle foreward, and walked at a steady rate towards Nav Epsilon. At :13, a Thor approached us. He appeared to have no team. He stepped past the red line on the radar, and all of Bravo began to fire at him. At :36, he ejected, and made a mad dash towards his 'mech spawn. Poor bastard...
"Bravo, we're approaching 1:00. When we do, follow me to Nav Delta. There are 2 'mechs that can be easily destroied."
"Yes ma'am, Bravo-1. Following"
With Epsilon's time full, we moved on to Delta. Sitting there were 2 Inoccent Pumas, JumpJetting and looking around nerviously, often short-charging their PPC's. It made me sad to see them fall after a simple barrage of 4 PPC's. The Uziel was indeed a strong pilot, and I had true aim with my Atlas's PPC's. As 1:00 approached, Castle lance took the lead at 2:30. Bravo had just short of 1:50. Just then, my teammates turned around, and I turned in time to see a Third Puma go down under Autocannons.
"Let's move out to Alpha. It is completely clear, no time is being gained.
"But ma'am! Castle lance has just reached 3:10!
"Damn... I didn't know I wasn't the lance leader here... DON'T EVER SPEAK TO ME IN THAT WAY AGAIN! Here's what we'll do. See that ridge near the middle? You two go snipe upon Nav Gamma, that's where Castle's current location is. I'll go take care of all 3 of their damn worthless 'mechs."
Moving away from Delta, began to approach the muggy, muddy Gamma. What I saw horrified me. A Dahishi, an Atlas, and an Awesome 'mech were all lined up, currently occupied with dealing with a Puma. 3:26. Holy Shit. They were going to win if I didn't act now. Alright, let's dance!
I ran straght into where the 3 'mechs were 'feasting' on the dead puma. Welcoming me, the 3 shot at least 6 PPC's in my direction, only one hit. These guys suck! Unleashing Autocannons and A Gauss on the Atlas, it toppled over immediatly. A round of MRM's crushed the cockpit, undoutebly killing the pilot while he was attempting to eject. One down, two to go. A lance of LRM's flashed past me and into the Awesome, as a Bushwacker came into view. He and his Hellbringer friend wanted to play as well. My lance began to snipe upon them With the Raven's LRM's, and the Uziel's PPC's. Returning to my battle, I flashed forth a round of MRM's at the Awesome, but it's AMS blew up before it hit the torso. 5 MRM's slashed into the Awesome's torso, and it shuntered foreward, launching 3 PPC's directly at me. They hit my 'neck', and I could feel the burn from the Cockpit. Then, the 2 Medium 'mechs that Bravo was dealing with, on fire now, sped in a mad dash towards the 2 heavys, and they both exploded, taking the Dashi and the Awesome with them. I backed out of this scene, and up the hill to watch an Atlas, Daishi, Awesome, Bushwacker, and Hellbringer explode. I saw ONE ejection pod, and it landed in the flames of the destruction and exploded as well.
"Well, ma'am, we're at 4:15, and if Castle were still around they would have won; they have 4:56. We got lucky, and the 2 Medium 'mechs were a big help.
With battles going on elsewhere, the lowest score below us now was 3:13, of India Lance.
My team and I pulled into the hill, killed off a Thor and a Puma, and won with 5:00. Before I could boast, I was returned to my jeweled bedroom.
