I walked into the Simulator after my talk with Quartermaster. I wanted to test out my new loadout, and it was a perfect oppritunity to do so with pilots that had also new 'mechs.
Selecting the option for 5 other Pilots, I keyed the com on the simulation computer to the Bunker-Wide PA system.
"All pilots wishing to test out their new 'mechs or loadouts please report to the Simulation Room. The Simulation starts in 10 Minutes."
I selected my Thanatos, and sat on the floor, keeping my eyes on the door, as I waited for pilots.

I walked into the simulator room and hopped into one of the free cockpits. I punched in my Hunchback.
I'm in.

I made my way into the simulator room, dressed in a casual white button-down shirt and my leather jacket. I had been watching the Solaris matches on the holoscreens in the base's lounge when I heard the call go out, and I was eager to test out my new Ghost Bear Daishi. All eyes were on me as I entered the simulator, and Wedge leaped to his feet as he noticed my presence.
"Captain!"
I smiled, and motioned for him to relax.
"We're off-duty, Lourde. Save it for crunch time. Mind if I join?"

I heard the announcement on the PA system and rushed to the simulator.
"Hey guys. I think I will be joining you on this one."
I selected my new Black Knight and got ready for the simulation.

I turned the corner and sprinted down the hallway, panting as I stepped into the simulation room.
Did I miss anything?

"Is this everyone? Good."
I pressed the button to close the door, and I keyed the computer to select stage.
"River City." Loaded, and I was inside my cockpit. The River that ran between me and the city shined brightly.
"This one's easy. It's king of the hill. You may not cross the river, and you may not destroy the bridges. You may only fire on the rural side of the bridge. First one to 1 minute wins. The 'King' is allowed to fire on those on the other side for defense. Any questions?"
"Everybody ready? GO!!"

I throttled up my Black Knight and headed for the bridges.
"Alright. You're on!"
I reached the bridge and realized that Lourde had beaten me to the 'hill'. I dodged a Gauss Rifle shot. It was on now.

Didn't realize this wasn't going to be a regular mission. Ah well.
Like this is a real fair fight. One Medium Class BattleMech versus a bunch of Heavies. Maybe I'll just use my left side of my brain. That might make it more fair.
I half chuckled and half swore at the situation. My only real advantage here was my own piloting skill.
I pressed towards the bridges and decided I'd try to let them batter themselves and finish them off myself. Thus conserving ammunition and precious armor.

I traded fire with Thorn, who in turn, awnsered with a pair of PPC's. Out of nowhere, Maxwell's Daishi crossed the bridge, now contesting the hill. I looked on my computer to see that I had stopped gaining time. Damn.
I watched as Maxwell and Alex brawled, while I fired upon Josef, who was tramping along the river bank scoring random shots. I stepped around a small building, and peppered O'Connel with Machine Guns. I then continued to gain time as Maxwell stepped onto a bridge. I rushed into the action, but stopped right before the bridge to continue to gain time, but to get a good peice of the action.
"Hold your fire!" Said Maxwell, as Josef, Thorn, O'Connel and himself turned and faced me. I looked at Maxwell's Daishi which seemed to have an evil grin.
I was peppered with gunfire, missiles, and lasers, and my Thanatos went down.
When I respawed in my 'mech, I trudged towards the bridge once more.

I used Wedge's explosion as a decoy and slipped onto the hill. Alex came charging at me, firing lasers. I dodged them to the best of my ability, but a pair of them caught my side. An autocannon round slipped past me, barely missing. I turned quickly and fired my LRM's at O'Connell, but half of them missed.
Something hit my back. Red warning lights were flashing as I turned and saw Alex, charging up another set of PPC's.

Alex's Black Knight slammed me with a huge laser barrage, knocking my cockpit around, making it difficult to draw a bead on the heavy 'Mech's critical locations. Eventually, the smaller 'Mech began to overheat, and had to hold its fire as it cooled. I took full advantage of the situation, charging my PPCs to full, and releasing twin bolts of superheated electroplasma into the hostile BattleMech's torso. Simultaneously, my quad ER Large Lasers cored into the Black Knight's left leg actuator.
A massive onslaught of ER Large Laser fire bombarded my Daishi's prominent nose once again, and I quickly returned the gesture via a brutal bludgeoning of the Black Knight's arm-mounted shield with my twin LB-10X autocannons. The BattleMech staggered under the crippling impact, but did not fall. I was impressed - Alex was holding his own.

I hit Josef with another barage of my PPC's. The final hit tore into his 'Mech. The fusion reactor went off destroying the Mad Cat.
As I did so Ben was pounding me with his Daishi. Round after round continued to pound my Black Knight. I fired a round of my PPCs and my lasers to try and fend him off.
I knew better. A Black Knight could possible fend of a Daishi, but I gave it my best. Another hit from Ben sent my armor levels into the red. I made a desicion.
"Alright. Im taking you down with me."
I charged full speed at Ben. If he took me down the explosion from my 'Mech would take out his. It was a long shot but I had no other choice.

I walked behind a building just to see Josef's Mad Cat explode. I scoped in on Maxwell's Daishi, and charged at him, trigger slapping him with Ballistics and lasers. His rear armor began to thin out, when my 'mech was knocked off it's feet by an autocannon, and a Hunchback played into view. I re-adjusted my aculators, and keyed the com. I crossed the bridge, to where Maxwell and Alex were engaged, and I saw Josef sulk back into action, lancing a Guass round at Alex.
"Wooh! This is fun! I wish it were this easy on the feild."
I faced O'Connell, and unleashed Twin Plasma bolts that found his torso.
Then, my targeting computer chirped out a missile warning, my cockpit shook violently, and my rear armor flashed to orange.
I turned around while crossing the bridge to see Josef's Mad Cat in the hill alone, taking random shots. I throttled full, and began my charge towards his Mad Cat.
"Here, Kitty, Kitty!"
