These are the BASIC terms and names common the the Inner Sphere. If I missed any, please tell me.
BattleTech- A hit series of minatures and books. None of this would be here without the classic hit that was released in the 80's.
MechWarrior- A new level of BattleTech. A smashing series of computer and Xbox games.
Inner Sphere- The setting of BT/MW. A troubled galaxy that strives for peace, that is divided into 5 Great Houses.
Word Of Blake- A lunatic band of strongheld religious freaks. With a destructive mindselt, the WoB threatens to take over the Inner Sphere. They chose their time of power when it seems as though all 5 houses were at war. One thing is for sure: You can't mess with them without a fight.
Clans- A group of power and control hungry warriors. They only respect their fellow warriors. They slaughder anybody else. Civilian or not. They have upgraded weapons that can only be purchased and made on the Black Market.
BattleMech- The weapon of choice for all Houses, Clans, and Mercenaries. The bulk of the action in any mission. Standing 40 feet tall and weighing in at up to 100 tons, they're a force to respect. All major attacks or threats are involved with BattleMechs.
BattleTank- A good choice for 'mech backup. Usually carries a 'mech fittable weapon(s). If used correctly, A tank or squad of tanks can have devistating effects. Not as strong as a 'mech, but sometimes faster, the BattleTank is good for those who just love backup.
BattleTurret- Fit in comfortably with the BattleTanks, the Turret is a very good option for defense. Some can even be remotely controlled, or even robotically controlled. Usually a nuicance, these turrets can draw just enough attention to themselfs and the scanners for a single or squad of 'Mechs to sneak in.
DropShip- The heavy transportation around the Inner Spjere. The more expensive the DropShip, the nicer. Most are used for Drop and Pickup of 'Mechs and Tanks, but some can be used for basic transportation for those who love to fly in style. Most can attatch or dock to a JumpShip to travel around in space. They can be fitted with anywhere from blasters to Gauss Cannons.
JumpShip- Just like the DropShip, the more expensive, the better. These massive ships have the ability to 'jump' around the Inner Sphere. They are fittited with latch or bay DropShip carrying capabilites. Also can be fitted with Heavy weapons.
