We have just gotten back from OP I, and I knew I wasn't gonna do much good with a Raven anymore. I wasn't as much of a stealth guy as I thouhgt I was. I was approaching the Quartermaster's office. I was still trying to decide what to do. I could always take some of the newly salvaged parts and put them on my Raven, making it a bit more battle-worthy, or I could take up the medium weight Uziel. I knew that the other 'mechs we salvaged were probably wanted by the other mechwarriors, more than I wanted them, too. I figured that I would try out a new 'mech, and take the Uziel if the bay allowed for it. I figured I would probably even have time to "fix" it up for the next OP before we left. We had just gotten the Briefing, and I wanted to have my 'mech ready for anything.
I slowly opened the door to the Quartermasters office.
"Can I help you Lieutenant?"
"Yes, Sir. I would like to exchange my Raven in for the salvaged Uziel. If there is not enough room in the bay for both 'mechs, which I'm guessing there won't be, we can sell the Raven somewhere, probably. So, is the Uziel mine now?"
After I said that last thing, I noticed I was a bit anxious to get a new 'mech. I also sounded a bit demanding and rude asking for it like that. But I still waited for the reply of the QuarterMaster.

I scratched my stubble visciously. It was either time to shave, or I needed to put some more Nix in my beard to kill those damn mites. Ah well.
"An Uziel, eh? Hmmm...I reckon I kin get you in that thar thing. You're gonna have to customize it yerself, though, cuz it ain't got no loadout yet.
"Get on out there and put some gear in the damn thing, then come back and see me."

OOC: If anyone wants me to customize their mech in CBT terms, let me know, and I can help you out.

OOC: Yes I can help with that as well, although I think Victor can do better with the HMP and all. (Im assuming you have HMP since you have HMA) I've only got the Free stuff, he's got the good stuff, lol.

I could taste the machine oil as I stepped into the main hanger. Ionized air filled the room as two techs welded armor onto a ‘mech with laser torches. Amongst all of the techs and ‘mechs I found the Quartermaster’s office. Not wanting to be rude, I knocked on the door twice, just to make sure the Quartermaster heard.
“What do you want?”
I was surprised with the Quartermaster’s seemingly irritated attitude, but not even a grumpy Quartermaster would stop me from requesting a ‘mech. The ‘mech I was looking for was a rare one, unlikely to be in stock, but perhaps it could be acquired elsewhere. I had heard of Mad Cats, or Timber Wolves as the clans called them, equipped with jump jets. I wasn’t sure if the rumor was true, but if anyone knew, I’m sure it would be the Quartermaster. I had had experience using an unmodified Timber Wolf, but I could only dream of piloting a jump capable one.
I apprehensively opened the office door seeing the Quartermaster lounging about, updating the parts list.
“Well?”
“Hello, I’m Sergeant Garland.”
“Yeah..?”
“I was told to report here to request a ‘mech.”
“Yep.”
His lack of courtesy disturbed me… I was going to be fighting and possibly dieing in the ‘mech he was about to assign and care for. I continued unfazed.
“I have heard rumors that a jump capable Mad Cat exists…”
I had trouble deciding whether or not to use the clan or inner sphere designation for the mech. The Quartermasters’ response surprised me, and I had a little more respect for him after it.
“Ah yes, the mythical flying Timber Wolf… Well, lets see what we can do about that.”
I was left waiting anxiously as he checked his computer…
OOC: The following Timber Wolf configs are jump capable:
Timber Wolf Pryde Timber Wolf S
As an Omnimech, you can also outfit any Timber Wolf with jump jets, assuming you make the room for them in both tonnage and critical space.

OOC: That mech is mighty big. Maxwell and Gunman had a restriction on mech sizes last I checked. (They weren't issuing any more Assault Class, not sure what the ruling is on Heavy Class is either.) However, they could have removed it or that restriction no longer in effect.
Though with the way the current Op is planned, you might get it. If anything, I'm sure they'll let you have it as an alternate mech.
Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Just in case think about a lighter class. I know you can at least get a way with a Medium Class.

The heartburn was overwhelming. I really shouldn't have eaten those chalupas and enchiladas with breakfast. Or maybe it was the tequilla and cornflakes that was doing it. At any rate...
"Yeah, I got a flying Mad Cat. Well....it's more of a MK-II...but not quite. Sort of a one-point-five. But it ain't got no pilot right now. You interested? What's the loadout you want?"
I let out a long, reverberating belch. This was going to be a long day.

OOC:
With regards to the "flying Timber Wolf" I think the Pheonix would do fine, as the Quarter Master said, its more of Mk 1.5 but it is still an omni. Obviously the weapons loadout would be have to be changed, but installing Jump Jets would be easily done I think.

I repressed a smile as the quartermaster's face reflected green from his computer screen; he had the 'mech in stock!
"Yeah, I got a flying Mad Cat. Well....it's more of a MK-II...but not quite. Sort of a one-point-five. But it ain't got no pilot right now. You interested? What's the loadout you want?"
He proceeded to belch after that comment, adding another chemical to the already questionable air. I hoped that this Mad Cat 1.5 was similar in properties to my old Timber Wolf, so I could keep the old loadout but with jumpjets.
"I'm very interested. My previous Timber Wolf had 4 ER Small Pulse lasers, two in the center torso and one beneath each ER Large Laser in the arms. It also had four heavy machine guns in the center torso and twin Clan LRM 15 racks on the shoulders. It had LAMS, MASC, ECM, and BAP as well. I know that LAMS are hard to come by, so an ammunition based anti-missile system would do fine. The missile and machine gun ammunition stores were protected by CASE. Let me know if anything doesn't work out. Thanks a lot."
I stepped out of the office, hoping that everything was in order. Now, it was time to see my new ride, Timby.

OOC :
Here's the possible loadout of the Mad Cat Mk II Hybrid (Mk 1.5) currently aka Pheonix, that includes Jump Jets, with the above requested equipment.
85 tons Fusion Engine Walk Speed = 3 Run Speed = 5 [8] 2 Jump Jets 16 Double Heat sinks (32) ('mech creats 60 heat, serious heat issues) 14 tons of Ferro-Fibrous Armour (263 points) Standard Structure
Light Active Probe LAMS Angel ECM MASC CASE
4 Clan Heavy Machine Guns (2 in LT, 2 in RT) [1 ton ammo each {4 tons total}] 4 ER Small Pulse Lasers (2 in CT, 1 in RA, 1 in LA) 2 Clan LRM 15 (1 in LT, 1 in RT) [1 ton ammo each {2 tons total}] 2 ER Large Lasers (1 in LA, 1 in RA)
So yes it is possible to modify the 'mech to have that loadout with Jump Jets. Although it has serious heat issues.

Does the ‘mech look the same, for the most part, as a standard Timber Wolf? I have an affinity for the Timber Wolf because I have 1/35th scale model of one on my desk. Is the Phoenix in a TRO? I have 3025-3060, but I didn't see it in those. I'm unfamiliar with the CBT rules. What does a speed of 5 translate to in kph? All my Battletech knowledge comes from novels, TROs, and computer and video games. How much heat does it take to go critical or necessitate a shutdown? The Mechwarrior series of games measures heat in Kelvin… is 60 heat about 6000K? Thanks for any info.
