I've pinned the most relevant posts in mission planning for now - yours were include - and I'll see what I can work out as far as a skunkworks board is concerned. Let's try to keep the mission planning discussion out of the Cantina as much as possible...otherwise I'll have to relocate this thread to the restricted areas. ;D
Soooooooooooooo....how's the weather?

I know that question might not be directed at me, but I can't resist.
"It's a nice 50 degrees, with calm winds going in that direction. It is cat and dogging outside, and there is a moderate chance of fish fall later on. It seems that the rain has already poured 10 cats and dogs per minute now. The poor animals"

LOL!!!
That reminds me of Les Nessman's "Turkey Drop" on WKRP in Cincinnatti.
"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

So, Lieutenant...where did you get started in the BattleTech universe?
It's great to see that MechAssault is bringing so many new people to the series.

Well, I'd have to be one of those people. But, because of Mechassault, I went to all these Mechassault sites, then all these other sites. I eventually found those sites I mentioned before, among others, that I learned alot from. Then, I saw the post in the Xbox forum, and wanted to RP here, and its been really fun. I was just born at the wrong time. It took me awhile to get into video games, and by that time, I had already missed all the good stuff (I'm only 13, btw) ;D
Oh, and for that research post, I KNOW I can find some info on it, but I need to know, what was the VERY FIRST installment of the mech series.

Well I must say, you are wise beyond your years. I grew up in the '80s (was born in 1982), so I missed out on the BattleTech game that started it all. My introduction to the series came when I first played MechWarrior 2 (the ATI Rage edition) on my uncle's brand-new (at the time) IBM Pentium I. That game got me hooked on the series, and since then I've become engrossed in the series, and it's so deep and full of detail, I'm sure I'll never know all there is to know about it.
BTW, you may very well enjoy the MechWarrior computer games. They're a lot more in-depth, in some respects, than MechAssault, and give some nice background on the series.

MechWarrior I was the first video game in the MechWarrior / MechAssault arsenal. Before that, I believe there was "Crescant Hawk's Inception" or something along those lines, but I don't know that beyond a reasonable doubt. I'll look into it. The first installmet EVER in the "Mech" series was not a video game, but a miniatures game called BattleTech. www.classicbattletech.com is a great resource for looking up material on some of the grander scopes of the game, and www.btencyclopedia.com has a vast archive of historical data. Also, be sure to visit www.solaris7.com for all the 'Mech designs you can handle. www.mwdarkage.com is the home of MechWarrior: Dark Age, the latest incarnation of the miniatures game. It has a great overview of the Inner Sphere in the ComStar INN area, with information on nearly every world in the Prefectures.

Well, I was wanting to get them, but it is probably not possible to run them on my computer. Even the newer Mechwarrior 4 ones. Of course, money would not be a problem at least. Probably can buy the entire set with the $95 U.S.(in case anyones not in U.S.) I have. Not to mention I'd have to find them. Ordering ANYTHING after it's out never seems to work right for me. I need my own credit card

What are your system specs?
Oh - and by the way - I missed your comment about finding this site on the XBox forums the first time I read it - just wanted to reply to that...
...we're glad you're here! ;D

Ahh, my dad would kill me if I tried to look them up. The only reason I know I can't play older games is because he said so. Not to mention none of the older games I have work. But then again, I've never tried using the option of right-clicking on the games icon, and saying that it can run on older system capabilities. I don't know. How do I find my systme specs, anyway? I'm good with alot of things, but only if it relates to the Internet. I'm not good with normal computer stuff. I'm just TSPUDI Oh, and thanks. I'm glad I can actually be here and RP. Sometimes, homework gets boring. Fortunatly, we had Thurday and Friday off. I am stupid. I said we were fortunate to have off Sat. and Sun. this week. WE GET THAT OFF EVERY WEEK. Jeez, what was I thinking

Well, I can make it pretty easy on you - instead of sending you off to the control panel, do you know the manufacturer and model of your computer? (i.e. Gateway, Dell, IBM, etc?)
Generally speaking, most new computers can run MechWarrior 2 through MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries. Mech 4 is not that old...it came out in '02-'03.

We got a Dell monitor. Not quite sure about the computer. Nope can't find anything. It's not Any of the ones you mentioned, though. I'm 99% sure it's not. It doesn't even have a name on it anywhere. Oh, and I am pretty good with the control panel. Lets see, I'll look through it, even though I don't know where to look.

Should be under "My Computer" => "Control Panel" => "System"
What does it say on that screen that comes up? (the General tab)

No problem. You should have NO problems running all of the Mech games on that system!
I'm leaving the office now. I'll be home in about an hour - I'll jump on my laptop once I get there.
