Ya, I could tell you admins are working hard. I posted my 'mech name, and it was changed quicker than I figured out I could change it myself. Well, thank you. I can't stand a slow admin, so I'll take that as a compliment! :::sounds of a burrito exploding suddenly draw him back to his administrative tasks:::

Hello again,
Thanks for your prompt response to my first question. I've got a few more for you, if you don't mind.
1. What is the date for the game? I know its in 3067, but when exactly?
2. As far as mechs and tech go, I've noticed you've got alot of Clantech and Level 3...is this standard for the unit, or should things be more conventional?
3. As far as mech selection goes, what is okay, and what is off limits?
4. Regarding the mechs again, how will you be resolving mech combats and whatnot? On a purely role-play basis? Or will there be another type of system involved?
5. Regarding the setting, it seems the Legionnaires setting is both a bit more advanced and has more elements of the supernatural in it...is this the case?
6. Regarding rank, should we chose our desired rank, our should we get it approved first?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. It is appreciated.

It is no problem asking the questions, thats what this thread is here for, lol.
1. - As to the exact date, I'll have to get back to you on that one, Captain Maxwell deals with the more detailed date information
2. - The reason for most of the Clantech that you see is due to numerous encounters with Clans, as well as our strong ties to the Wolf's Dragoons, whom sponsors us and gives us access to high demand supplies. (Im not sure what all you are considering Level 3 tech though)
3 - Basically if it is an existing 'mech within the BattleTech Universe, or is able to be created within the FASA set limitations for the CBT board game (some minor variation is allowed depending on the circumstance)
4 - Mech combat is purely roleplay based, and in the campaigns is just the members vs. NPC enemies, so the battle can go just about any way they wish.
5 - I dont think the setting is really that much more advanced, it is between the CBT and Dark Age timelines, so there isn't a whole lot set in stone during this time. The supernatural bit was an unexpected introduction by one of the members, but we're curious to see how it goes.
6 - Rank is assigned upon joining, I suppose you could request a rank and we would take it into consideration, also you are able to get promoted through your performance in the campaigns.
Hopefully this answers your questions, and its nice to see your considering joining our site.

Hello again, In regards to Level 3, I'm talking about the following tech: - Mixed Clantech/IS Tech on the same chassis
- Laser Anti-Missile Systems
- X-Pulse Lasers
- IFF Jammer
- Advanced Gyro (Types)
- Null Signature System
Basically, technologies that aren't tournament legal in CBT tourneys. Stuff that you see alot of in MW-series games (which I'm not bashing BTW, just pointing out the difference). They are known as Level 3 Tech.

Ah, I see what you mean, we are using a combination of MW and BT rules here, so its all still allowable for us. Personally Im only used to Level 2 tech in the BT Universe so I wasnt sure what you were refering to on here.
if you have any more questions, feel free to post them, and we will gladly answer them to the best of our ability.

In response to the question pertaining to the current date: November 2, 3067 (no, I'm not kidding!). There is a method to our madness for choosing this particular span of the BattleTech timeline.

November 2. Is that just convenient. Or did you do that pupsefully, like make the date the same when you started this forum?

It's mostly convenient. As the "2nd" part of the date goes, I just lined the day up with the current day for easy remembering, but that will change, as time tends to move faster when you're talking about RPGs. But it's a good start date.
Having the month be November wasn't a coincidence, though. I definitely wanted to kick things off in the latter part of 3067.

I'd also like to field the question concerning the rankings here...rankings will be based largely on participation...the more that an individual contributes will help promotions come faster, and will lead to larger roles in the Ops as well as possibly on the Legionnaires' forums as well.
Posting once every three months will not make you a Commander. ;D

It's amazing what can happen in two days, isn't it?
On Saturday, without saying anything, Oakley01 decided that an exodus from ComStar was in order due to his dissatisfaction with the way the group had grown so large...the incident caused enough fallout that the remaining Generals (I carried out the actual act yesterday) disbanded the group and restarted it under the Legionnaires banner - this is a group that has existed for a LONG time and has switched formats from roleplaying to Live-based gaming. This will be our new home - and our new legacy.
Thus far, all signs point to a positive future under a new banner! Welcome aboard!

As a side note - Ben and I are the same person - but for the moment, we will be using both gamertags so that everyone can get on the same page.

Keith -
It surprised all of us, myself the most, I think. But don't worry - rebooting is not always a bad thing - as with computers, it has a tendency to fix problems.
This will, for the moment, be our website - the roleplaying side of it was shut down a LONG time ago - I have some reconfiguring to do here to get the site tailored to online gaming needs, but feel free to browse the archives to see what this site once was. The contents of Op I have been archived here for your reading pleasure - but be forewarned - it's a LONG read!
We're glad to have you here. You've been a loyal member for a long time and it has been a pleasure to serve with you.
