I staggered over to me computer terminal, cut the bloddy thing on, and plugged a few figures in. The machine stumbled and stuttered, making several very loud, and dangerous-sounding, grinding noises as it searched the database. I smacked the monitor, and the CRT flickered to a lovely shade of pink...which wasn't what I wanted. Several more bashes and shakes later, the computer was back to its old cranky self, and the dot matrix printer spit out a grimy report. I pulled it off the spool, and looked at it, a deranged expression on my face.
"Err...hmmm..." I muttered, scratching me bum.
"What is it?"
"It's the recipie for CHICKEN SOUP, is what it is!" I replied, and kicked the computer off me desk. I ambled over to the comset, and made a call to one of me brokers. A few minutes later, a page spit off the fax, and I brought it over to Thorn. After belching loudly, I spoke.
"Well, seems you're in luck, Mister Thorn. I just got off the HPG wit' me mate on Solaris VII...seems some 'Mech jock got a bit too cocky with a Fafnir and got 'is Black Knight's head smashed in. Bloody shame. Good news is, the 'Mech's up for sale. Once I hose 'is guts out of the cockpit, and make a few minor repairs, I can get 'er up and running again. 'Ere's 'ow she'd look with your mods. Lemmie know if you want to change anything."
I pressed the paper into Thorn's hand, and unwrapped a wad of Rotengen gum.

Overview:
The Star League Army introduced the Black Knight into service in
2578. The Black Knight's heavy armor and offensive power make it the
ideal command 'Mech for front-line units. At the same time, the
arsenal of weapons allows the 'Mech to operate effectively on its
own.
The communication system employs the latest technology
to link the Black Knight with orbital satellites. The new Beagle
Active Probe furthers the performance by picking up a much wider
range of information and relaying it instantly to the pilot. The
Beagle Probe can pierce standard ECM devices at short range and
provide instant cataloguing of all military machines.
Capabilities:
The Black Knight supports 13 tons of armor on an Endo Steel II
frame. This structure provides all the support of a standard skeleton
twice its weight. The resulting lighter frame allows the 'Mech to
mount a heavier weapon mix and ample armor.
If the 'Mech
has a problem, it is with heat build up. Even with 20 heat sinks, the
'Mech can still overheat quickly if the pilot is not careful with his
weapon-fire selection.
The 'Mech's main weapon is the Magna
Hellstar II Particle Projection Cannon, which provides quick and
deadly firepower.
Twin McCorkel Large Lasers provide
additional might. A head-mounted Magna small laser rounds out the
weaponry and offers the advantage of being tied directly to the
Beagle Active Probe. This tie-in allows the Beagle's scanner to
ride a low-power laser pulse through any interfering objects. Due to
the limited range of the laser, this is done only for analyzing the
detail of nearby objects.
